Welcome
Thank you for your interest in the Chief Executive role at the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Berkshire West (BOB) Integrated Care Board (ICB)
I took up my role in January 2022. Since then, I have worked with colleagues to establish the new Integrated Care Board (ICB) and worked with partners across our patch to establish the new Integrated Care Partnership (ICP).
We are now looking for an exceptional Chief Executive to lead the next phase of this transformational journey.
Let’s be clear- this is an opportunity to be the difference that makes a difference for our communities. By helping shape a new approach to health and care across the BOB region, you will drive change in improving population health, tackling long standing health inequalities, delivering better value for money, and contributing to social and economic prosperity. These are bold ambitions, but ones that we must embrace. This is not a job for the faint hearted. It will require an abundance of inspirational leadership skills, emotional intelligence, patience, humility, resilience, and an exceptional ability to translate board room strategy into measurable outcomes. In return you will have the opportunity to drive and embed long term improvements to health and care at a scale that few roles can offer.
In support of our future ways of working, I want to ensure that we reflect the needs of the population we serve, right through the system and up to Board level. It’s vital that we think about whose voices we want to amplify within our health and care settings and make conscious efforts to listen to the voices that are often overlooked. Our new CEO needs to value all voices and know how to reach out to, understand and support the needs of those who have the worst health and care outcomes; the 50,000 who work across our multitude of direct and indirect services; the service delivery challenges that our partners face and know what to do about it.
Our board is keen to welcome fresh ideas and expertise to lead the BOB system, which is why we are encouraging applications from as wide a range as possible. Senior level CEO leadership experience is key, and it can come from health, local or national Government, from the private or the third sectors.
If you are inspired to support this bold journey, bringing your diverse skills and experience to work with key stakeholders in leading BOB into the future, we would be delighted to hear from you, I am available to talk to candidates ahead of application; or please do call our retained consultants at Penna: Rob Naylor (rob.naylor@penna.com 07922 417 550), Dawar Hashmi (dawar.hashmi@penna.com 07513 706265) or Julie Towers (julie.towers@penna.com 07764 791736).
Best wishes,
Dr Javed Khan OBE
